"But are we compatible?"
When people get to know Hettie Brittz as "That Tree Lady," or our facilitators as Tall Tree people, they assume that we already have them profiled, and then they want us to look into their minds the way a gypsy fortune-teller looks into a crystal ball. Can we then please tell them secret information of some kind, such as whether they and a person they're in love with (usually not the same tree type) are a match?
We can fairly accurately predict, though, once they have taken a profile test and showed us their result, where they will have to work a little harder to stretch across the forest trail towards the beloved tree that is not like them. It is all about intentionality, initiative, and humility.
"How badly do you want the relationship to work?" is our answer to the question about compatibility.
If you tell us, "We are willing to do the work," we can help you figure out what work to do first and most consistently. For example, if you are a Box-pine and a Palm-Rose, a lot of work will go into the Box-Pine not raining on the Palm-Roses parade and the Palm-Rose not taking the detailed questions from the Box-Pine as criticism or distrust. That is why the trees.
What we foresee in the trees, clearer than in a crystal ball, is that if the Palm-Rose would be willing to endure the "interrogation and nit-picking" (their words, not mine) they will find that the Box-Pine becomes their most loyal supporter and mopper-upper when their wild ideas have casualties along the way; and if the Box-Pine can work at limiting those questions or rephrasing them as statements of trust ("I'm sure you already thought about making provision for foul weather so that nothing stops this great idea!" vs. "What if it rains out?") they'll find the Palm-Rose takes them along on new adventures of faith and fun that they never knew they needed to experience. Growth all around!
